TRUE GHOST (Selectively Bred)

In currently recognized reptile vernacular the name "Ghost" generally refers to the visually expressed genetic combination of anerythrism and hypomelanism. Chad Dorton produced two "Ghost" Rosy morphs by selectively breeding the Axanthic Morongo gene into a San Felipe Hypo. In 2005 Dorton produced a pair of what he named "True GHOST" rosys by breeding the offspring hypo appearing het Axanthics together. Calling these "True Ghosts" somewhat stretches the description, as Dorton combined a simple recessive trait with an artificially selected one. However, for the Rosy enthusiast the name does distinguish these "True Ghosts" from the San Felipe Hypo.
